Why a new webshop?

To serve both professional customers and private individuals more quickly and efficiently, Devako wanted a modern online platform that digitizes the entire rental process.

The challenge

The existing processes for reserving, managing and tracking rental machines were highly dependent on manual processing. In addition, the new solution needed to support different target groups, be available in multiple languages and integrate seamlessly with the existing business software.

Devako was therefore looking for a future-proof web application that would not only simplify reservations, but also automate administrative follow-up and give customers greater autonomy.

The solution

IDcreation developed a fully custom-built B2B web application in ASP.NET with an extensive integration with the Vary ERP system. The platform supports the entire rental process, from searching for and reserving machines to administrative follow-up and invoicing.

A user-friendly rental platform

The application is built around an intuitive rental catalogue that allows visitors to quickly find the right machine. The entire user experience was designed with a focus on simplicity, speed and clear navigation, enabling customers to move from search to reservation without unnecessary steps.

• Clear category structure with extensive filters based on product characteristics

• Search function with autocomplete that displays results instantly while typing
  

The reservation flow was also fully custom-developed. Customers receive a clear overview of their selected machines, rental period and prices, allowing them to complete their reservation quickly and without confusion. This makes the catalogue more than just an overview of the available equipment: it is a fully fledged digital rental platform.

A complete customer portal

After logging in, each customer gains access to a personal environment where all relevant information is centrally available.

Customers can, among other things:

• View completed reservations
  
• View machines currently on rent
  
• Consult invoices online
  
• Manage personal details
  

The login module was also fully custom-developed, including GDPR-compliant processing of personal data and an integrated "forgot password" procedure.

Smart integrations with existing business software

An important part of the project is the extensive integration with the Vary ERP system via a REST API.

This enables the automatic synchronization of, among other things:

• Products
  
• Customer data
  
• Reservations
  
• Invoices
  

Even reservations made by new customers can be processed immediately, even when they do not yet exist in Vary. Thanks to an automatic integration with Carfac, new customers are registered and the CustomerID is sent directly back to the web application.

These automations reduce manual administration to a minimum and ensure that all data remains up to date at all times.

Digital follow-up of rental machines

The follow-up process after the rental period has also been fully digitized:

• Machines can be checked in online via a form — with or without login
  
• Integrated calendar to immediately select a collection date
  
• Automatic update of the planning in Vary for more efficient operations

A solid technical foundation

The entire web application was developed in ASP.NET and is fully responsive, ensuring optimal performance on desktop, tablet and smartphone.

Thanks to its modular architecture and extensive ERP integration, Devako now has a scalable platform that makes future expansions easy to implement.

The result

With its new custom-built platform, Devako now has a professional online rental environment where customers can quickly reserve machines and manage their entire rental administration digitally.

Reservations, customer registrations, planning and invoicing are largely automated — less administration, greater efficiency.

The result is a future-proof web application that perfectly matches Devako’s day-to-day operations and is ready for further growth.
