Heule

Isomo nv from Kortrijk-Heule has been a pioneer in expanded polystyrene in the Benelux for more than half a century.
The brand name has become so well established that, among the general public, Isomo has largely replaced the technical term EPS.

The challenge

A construction professional does not search for a product name, but for a solution for a specific part of the building. They think in terms of roofs, attics, cavity walls or floors, not EPS types and densities. At the same time, they need to be able to substantiate their choice with approvals and certificates, of which Isomo has hundreds.

The website therefore had to do two things at once: provide user-friendly navigation from the visitor’s perspective, rather than according to the product range structure, and make hundreds of certificates easy to find.

The approach

The product range is structured according to its location in the building: standard EPS, roof, attic, exterior façade, cavity wall, interior wall, floor, ground and custom solutions.

Nine entry points, each with its own page and its own web address.

From application to product

When visitors click on "Cavity wall", they first get an explanation of the construction situation, followed by the products that are suitable for it: boards, faced boards or bead systems. Visitors do not need to know the product names in advance.

Certificates as a dedicated section

ATG, ACERMI, KOMO, EPD and fire classification reports are brought together in a single document database, filtered by application and language. Anyone looking only for fire certificates for roofs does not have to scroll through the rest.

Explanation alongside the product range

"What is EPS", "Why EPS", "Environment" and an FAQ answer the questions of visitors who are still getting to know the material. This keeps the product pages technical without losing those who still need reassurance.

Projects as references

A dedicated projects section shows where the material has actually been used. For a specifier, a completed project often carries more weight than a technical data sheet.

The key idea

The visitor starts with the location in the building, not the product name.

Technical behind the scenes

Document management in the CMS

Certificates and approvals are managed as files and linked to one or more categories. As a result, the same document appears under every application it applies to, without requiring duplicate uploads.

Filter on the download page

Visitors first select their category, from environmental declarations to fire classification or a specific application, and are then shown only the relevant documents.

Site-wide search

Visitors who already know the product name can simply type it in. The search function is integrated into the main navigation and remains accessible in the mobile menu.

Dedicated URL for each application

The web addresses are built around construction-related terms, from building solutions to custom EPS. Anyone searching for cavity wall insulation is taken directly to the right page.

The result

A reference platform for the construction sector, making the full product range and all related documentation easily accessible.

The website:

  • Organises the product range according to its location in the building
  • Makes hundreds of certificates searchable by category and language
  • Serves both specialists and clients who are still discovering EPS
  • Allows Isomo to add documents themselves as certificates are renewed
